On February 27th we were fortunate to be invited to Legend Brewery’s 17th Anniversary bash in Richmond, VA. Legend is one of my favorite local breweries – great food, amazing beer and an incredibly hospitable team of folks who truly love making great beer – what more could you ask for?
When spending time in Richmond, I have a few recommendations. Stay at the Crowne Plaza on Canal Street. Lovely rooms, great service and a short shuttle ride away from anywhere you might want to go.
Despite rain, sleet, ice and snow – the pub crawl must go on (and it did!) Nineteen chicks gathered at Cally’s Restaurant and Brewing Company around 1PM on Saturday to kick off our grand beer tour of Harrisonburg, VA. Mark and I dodged bad weather for three days in order to make the journey from Front Royal to Harrisonburg to join our friends who were ready to paint the town “beer”. And that we did.
The Festy crowd basks in the musical glow over Columbus Day weekend.
“Let’s just go tonight,” Neighbor chirped over the phone.
I cringed. This was totally against my plans to be an old lady. It was Friday afternoon and I had just gotten home from work. I was thinking sweatpants, some light cross stitching, a glass of wine, and a geeky sci fi show that I don’t like to admit that I watch. Neighbor’s plans were for the two of us to quickly pack up my Subaru with a tent and sleeping bags, make a pit stop for gas and Cheez-its and drive to Nelson County for the first ever Festy Experience, a two day music and beer concert at Devil’s Backbone Brewery.
